Biography
Brendan Daly joined the Center for Broader Impacts (CBI) in January 2025 as a Broader Impacts Specialist, bringing a diverse background in artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and program development to the University of Notre Dame’s efforts to expand the societal reach of research and foster meaningful community engagement.
Brendan’s career spans industries and continents, with a consistent focus on leveraging cutting-edge technologies to create positive societal impact. As a founding member of the enFocus fellowship program in South Bend, he supported local innovation and community development. He later co-founded DayBlink Consulting in Washington, D.C., where he advised Fortune 500 companies on digital transformation and business strategy, helping organizations navigate change and drive growth. During a two-year stint on Wall Street with National General Insurance, Brendan played a pivotal role in establishing the company’s automation and AI program. His initiatives drove over $100 million in sales growth by deploying real-time AI tools that enhanced customer service and empowered the salesforce. At HealthCompass, his work included a nationwide digital health initiative in Brunei, where he helped mobilize an entire nation around health and fitness goals, ultimately completing a billion-step challenge in just eight days.
At CBI, Brendan is passionate about helping researchers amplify the impact of their work through community-focused partnerships and broader impacts strategies. He looks forward to collaborating with faculty, campus units, and community organizations to design and implement initiatives that connect research to real-world challenges—whether through technology, education, or innovative outreach programs. Now based in the South Bend area, Brendan is committed to translating Notre Dame’s cutting-edge research into tangible benefits that address societal needs, promote equity, and drive positive change.
A native of Cork, Ireland, Brendan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University College Cork and earned his Master’s in Entrepreneurship, Technology, and Innovation from Notre Dame’s ESTEEM Graduate Program as a Naughton Fellow. He further enhanced his technical expertise with an Advanced Certificate in Machine Learning from Stanford University.
